Personal information we process

The amount and type of information we process depends on your activities and use of the Website. Certain information is collected simply from your use of the portal, whereas other information is submitted by you voluntarily in your communications with us or to receive requested services.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can automatically recognise and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

How long we retain your information

Any personal information you provide us through the Portal or by directly contacting us is securely stored by STEMMOS only for as long as necessary for us to comply with our contractual obligations to STEMMOS funding authority, the European Commission, unless otherwise required for the defense of legal claims arising from the STEMMOS project contract or as otherwise required by compulsory law.

Your rights

Under the applicable law, as the holder of personal data, you have the right to:

    • request information regarding the processing of your personal data;
    • request access to your personal data that has been preserved and that concerns you, as well as a copy of the same data;
    • request updating or rectification of incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
    • request at any time the permanent removal of your personal data, as well as withdraw the consent previously given for the processing of such data;
    • request the limitation of the processing of your personal data in specific cases;
    • receive your personal data in automatic reading format and, if technically possible, transfer them to another entity.

The holder of the personal data has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Media

By uploading images to our website, you confirm that you own all necessary rights to the content and that it does not infringe any third-party intellectual property. You also grant STEMMOS a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute these images in connection with our services.

You should also avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
