About STEMMOS
STEMMOS in a Nutshell
Our Vision
STEMMOS aims to promote interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) by empowering trainers to teach Earth, Moon, and Mars Observation (EMMO) science.
The project emphasizes practical, hands-on activities that enhance students’ creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
The STEMMOS project is funded under the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2 (KA220-SCH – Cooperation Partnerships in School Education).
The project will run for 36 months, from December 2024 to November 2027.
Our Goals
STEMMOS aims to create and deliver an innovative educational program to empower trainers in teaching Earth, Moon, and Mars Observation (EMMO) science, thereby enhancing students’ STEAM and soft skills. The project will achieve this by:
-
- Conducting a comprehensive analysis of best practices in EMMO education across Europe.
- Developing new, dedicated pedagogical materials and an online STEMMOS Hub featuring interactive tools and games.
- Implementing innovative training methodologies through a MOOC consisting of four thematic modules tailored for trainers.
- Organizing national and international training sessions, including a summer school, to equip educators with essential skills.
- Running pilot educational programs with trained educators to assess effectiveness and impact.
- Creating an experiential Space Science Festival to foster direct student engagement with space science.
- Promoting the project’s outcomes widely across Europe to ensure broad uptake and sustainability.
